Colonel Sofia Qureshi’s husband, Tajuddin Bagevadi, is an officer in the Mechanized Infantry. Mechanized Infantry is an infantry force that uses vehicles for mobility and power on the battlefield. Tajuddin Bagevadi is a resident of Kannur village in Gokak, Belgaum. Sophia married Tajuddin in 2005. They got married for love. The couple is serving in the Indian Army. Currently, Sofia is serving as a Colonel in Jammu, while her husband is posted as a Colonel in Jhansi.

Sofia’s father, Taj Mohammad Qureshi, is a Subedar in the Border Security Force (BSF). He was an electronics and mechanical engineer and fought in the 1971 war. Sofia Qureshi completed her master’s degree in biochemistry from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, in 1997. She then started her PhD studies and joined the army in 1999.
