According to a report by Ndtv, 17 Congress leaders in Katihar district have left the party and joined the BJP. In fact, the leaders have made serious allegations against Congress leader and six-time MP Tariq Anwar. Vikas Singh, president of the Congress-affiliated labor organization INTUC, accused Tariq Anwar of promoting anti-upper caste mentality in his actions and rhetoric.
Joined BJP in Patna
Vikas Singh said that 17 leaders have left the party and joined BJP after being angry with the attitude of Congress leader Tariq Anwar. These leaders joined BJP in the presence of Minister Neeraj Kumar Bablu in a program organized in Patna. He said that this is just the beginning and in the coming time thousands of workers can join BJP.
Katihar is the stronghold of Congress
Let us tell you that Katihar is considered a stronghold of Congress. Upper castes have significant influence in this area. In such a situation, Congress may get weakened due to 17 leaders leaving the party. However, till now there has been no response from Congress leader Tariq Anwar on the allegations.
