India Extends Closure Of Airspace For Pakistani Airlines.
Indian Airspace Closed For Pakistani Flights Till June 23: India has closed its airspace to Pakistan till June 23. Meanwhile, Pakistan has extended its airspace ban for Indian aircraft by one month. For this, Pakistan issued a notice on Friday. It has been said that Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed for Indian aircraft, operator-operated, owned, or leased aircraft till June 23, 2025.
This ban will be effective not only on passenger flights but also on military flights. Tensions have been rising between the two countries since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Both countries have closed their airspaces to each other. Pakistan first announced the closure of its airspace on April 24 due to the tense situation. This ban was in effect until May 24 at 5:29 am.
However, before this period expired, Pakistan extended its NOTAM period, while India also extended its airspace ban for Pakistan by one month. Due to the closure of Pakistani airspace for Indian aircraft, routes to Central Asia, West Asia, Europe, the UK, and North America have been diverted. This is resulting in increased time and fuel consumption.
