Hardcore Maoist Hidma Arrested : Koraput DVF police have arrested a hardcore ACM range Maoist named Mohan and Kunjam Hidma from the forest near Petiguda village of Bypariguda police station since Thursday morning, SP Rohit Verma informed at a press conference held at the local SP office premises in the afternoon. While conducting a search operation in the forest near Petiguda village of Bypariguda police station, the Koraput District DVF police, led by Jaipur Police SDPO Partha Kashyap and Assistant Commandant Divya Prasad Parida, came face to face with the Maoists and the jawans asked the Maoists to surrender but without listening to this, the Maoists suddenly started firing on the police.

The police retaliated. Meanwhile, the police managed to arrest Mohan along with his three associates while they were trying to escape to Andhra Pradesh. They seized a 47-mm rifle with 35 rounds of bullets, a magazine, 27 electronic detonators and many explosives and Maoist paraphernalia from the arrested Mohan. The SP said that Mohan has four cases in Koraput district and three in Malkangiri district and is involved in many incidents in the state of Chhattisgarh.
He is involved in 4 major Maoist atrocities in Koraput district and 3 in Malkangiri district. He joined the Maoist organization in 2007 at the age of just 14. Koraput police of Andhra Odisha board has achieved great success. The police have seized a 47-mm gun, 35 rounds of live ammunition, one magazine, 27 detonators, 90 wireless detonators, 2 kg of gunpowder, 2 steel tin cans, 2 radios, 2 earphones, one walkie-talkie, 2 knives, 4 torch lights, Maoist paraphernalia including Maoist books, medicine, clothes and other Maoist paraphernalia from the Maoists.
