Active COVID Cases In India Cross 4,000 Mark, Five Deaths Reported In 24 Hours: The number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to over 4,000. Kerala remains the most affected state by COVID-19. This information was received from the data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday. According to the data of the ministry, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Delhi are among the states most affected by Covid-19. In the last 24 hours, the number of patients under treatment in the country was recorded at 4,026, and five patients have died due to infection.

Since January this year, 37 people have died due to COVID-19 in the country so far. The number of patients under treatment in the country was 257 on May 22, and by May 31, this number increased to 3,395, and after this, the number of patients under treatment increased to 4,026. Currently, Kerala has 1,446 patients under treatment, which is the highest in the country. After this, Maharashtra has 494, Gujarat has 397, and Delhi has 393 patients under treatment.

Deaths in these states because of COVID-19:

According to the data of the Ministry of Health, one patient each has died in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus infection, and two patients have died in Maharashtra. Official sources had said on May 31 that the situation of COVID-19 in India is being closely monitored. The ministry emphasized that the severity of the infection is low, and most of the patients are getting treatment in isolation at home, and there is nothing to worry about.

Indian Council of Medical Research Director General Dr. Rajiv Bahl said on Monday that genome sequencing of virus samples in West and South India has shown that the current form of the virus, due to which the cases have increased, is not serious, and it is a new form of ‘Omicron’ of the virus.

Covid-19 Four variants of the virus emerged:

He said that the four new forms of the virus that have been detected are – LF.7, XFG, JN.1, and NB.1.8.1. All of these have originated from the Omicron form. There are more cases of infection with the LF.7, XFG, JN.1 form of the virus. Dr. Bahl said, “We are closely monitoring the situation. At this time, we should be vigilant along with monitoring. However, there is nothing to worry about.”
