ICC Announces Schedule For Women’s ODI WC 2025: The global body of cricket, ICC, has announced the schedule of this year’s Women’s ODI World Cup to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. In this global tournament, India and Pakistan will clash on October 5 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Colombo has been kept as a neutral venue under the hybrid model. The Indian team will start its campaign in this tournament with a match against Sri Lanka in Bangalore on September 30, and after this, its next match will be against Pakistan.

India-Sri Lanka matches will be held in five cities:

ICC had already announced the dates and venues of the Women’s ODI World Cup, but on Monday, it also announced its schedule. This global tournament will begin on September 30, and the final match will be played on November 2. Its matches will be held in five cities of India and Sri Lanka, which include M Chinnaswamy in Bangalore, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

This global tournament will be organized in India after 12 years. The first semi-final match will be played in Guwahati or Colombo on October 29, while the second semi-final match will be played in Bangalore on October 30. Eight teams will participate:

Eight teams will participate in the Women’s ODI World Cup, which includes India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Australia will enter this tournament as the defending champion. It defeated England in the final of the last World Cup played in New Zealand in 2022. Australia has won the title seven times and is the most successful team in the tournament’s history. India was earlier its sole host, but the matches of the tournament will now be played in Bangalore, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo. Colombo has been added because Pakistan will not come to India for ICC tournaments, and the hybrid model was approved in the Champions Trophy earlier this year.

After playing Sri Lanka and Pakistan, India will play South Africa on October 9 and Australia on October 12 in Visakhapatnam. The team will face England in Indore on October 19 and then New Zealand in Guwahati on October 23. India will also face Bangladesh at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 26, quashing rumours of the venue losing hosting rights after the stampede during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) victory celebrations.
