NIA Arrests Two for Sheltering Pahalgam attackers

Pahalgam Terror Attack: NIA Arrests Two For Sheltering Pakistani Lashkar Terrorists: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two people for providing shelter to the terrorists who attacked in Pahalgam. On April 22, terrorists carried out a horrific attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 innocent tourists were killed while 16 others were seriously injured.

According to the NIA, Parvez Ahmad Jothar of Batkot, Pahalgam, and Bashir Ahmad Jothar of Hill Park, Pahalgam, have revealed the identities of the three armed terrorists involved in the attack and also confirmed that they were Pakistani nationals affiliated with the proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

According to the NIA investigation, Parvez and Bashir knowingly sheltered three armed terrorists in a seasonal dhok (hut) at Hill Park before the attack. The two men provided food, shelter, and logistical support to the terrorists who selectively killed tourists based on their religious identity on that fateful afternoon.

It was the biggest terrorist attack ever. The NIA has arrested both of them under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. It is further investigating the case RC-02/2025/NIA/JMU registered after the attack that shook the world on 22 April 2025. Further investigation is going on in the case.

On the NIA arresting two people for allegedly sheltering terrorists in Pahalgam, former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta said, “Now the investigation will reveal a lot about who they are connected to. We will stop infiltration from across the border, but the bigger problem is those who are supporting them from within the country.”

PDP leader Iltija Mufti said, “Whatever happened in Pahalgam last month is completely condemnable, it was a cowardly attack. Tourism has stopped in Pahalgam, the economy of Jammu and Kashmir has collapsed. I appeal to the government to arrest those who carried out this attack as soon as possible.”

National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said, “Now we will find out from them who they (terrorists) were and where they came from. If they have caught them correctly, it is a very good thing for us that gradually we will reach those who carried out the Pahalgam attack.”

The NIA has arrested two people on charges of hiding terrorists in Pahalgam. On this, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta said that the investigation will reveal with whom these people were in contact. He said that infiltration from across the border can be stopped, but those who help terrorists inside the country are more dangerous. He accused Pakistan that it has itself become a victim of terrorism and if it does not improve in time, it will be ruined.

NIA arrests two terror supporters, PDP leader’s reaction

Jammu and Kashmir PDP leader Iltija Mufti made statements on two important issues. The first statement was about international politics, in which she condemned the US attack on Iran and expressed disappointment over India’s silence. She said that India has always supported Palestine, but this time it is not taking a clear stand, while Iran is standing in support of Palestine. She also described the silence of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as sad.

In the second statement, Iltija Mufti strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam last month. She said that it was a cowardly attack, which has affected tourism in the area and caused serious damage to the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. She appealed to the government to arrest the culprits promptly and take steps to restore public trust.
