FM University Student Soumyashri Died , Sets Herself 0n Fire For Justice : A student who was undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, after attempting burnt herself last Saturday due to mental torture by her teacher, died on Monday night. Her name is soumyashri (20). She hails from Palasia, Bhograi. She was a brilliant student.

soumyashri condition was critical. More than 95% of her body was burnt. She was kept in the ICU at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on a ventilator. She had internal injuries. She was undergoing dialysis as her kidneys were affected. A high-level expert committee was formed by AIIMS for her treatment. The expert committee was formed with 8 experienced doctors.

In this incident, the college’s chairman Dilip Ghosh and the head of the education department and assistant professor Sameer Kumar Sahu have been arrested and suspended. A three-member high-level committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
What did the student complain about?
A second-year student of the Integrated B.Ed. course at FM Autonomous College, Balasore, in her written complaint to the college’s internal grievance committee on the 1st, mentioned that HOD Assistant Professor Sameer Kumar Sahu has been mentally torturing and insulting me. He is threatening to make me stay in the classroom for 6 years. He is misbehaving with me. He is sending my personal information to my home. The biggest thing is that he expressed his desire to have physical intercourse with me. But I refused. Then he continued to misbehave with me. So I was mentally stressed and lost my mental balance and attempted suicide. If the college authorities do not investigate the incident and do not give me justice, then I will commit suicide. And HOD Sameer Sahu and the college authorities will be responsible for all this.
