‘Mission Life’ To Be Included In School Education, Students Will Study Climate Change: Dharmendra Pradhan . On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an initial meeting was held in New Delhi on Thursday between Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav to work towards a sustainable future by integrating ‘Mission Life’ in school education. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Government of India.
‘Mission Life’ To Be Included In School Education
On this occasion, Shri Pradhan emphasized that the National Education Policy emphasizes the need to integrate environmental awareness and climate change education in the school curriculum. Environmental education has been emphasized in school education in the past as well. It has been made a part of the curriculum and environmental protection has been promoted through various programs and campaigns from Balbatika.

If Mission Life is integrated into the school curriculum, more than 14.7 lakh schools and over 30 crore students across India will be able to join this mass movement, which will help in spreading a healthy lifestyle for the environment. Shri Pradhan thanked both the ministries for their valuable suggestions in driving the sustainability agenda and inculcating eco-friendly mindset and behaviour among children.
Shri Pradhan suggested that DIETs should include climate education at the grassroots level, promote environmental education and training through gamification and digital methods, develop teacher handbooks on the elements of Mission Life, and incorporate the positive aspects of Mission Life into the credit framework to promote eco-friendly behavior by students and all stakeholders.
The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change will work together to connect climate-conscious citizens and protect our environment. Shri Pradhan emphasized on working together to realize climate commitments and establish India’s climate leadership.
