 A major breakthrough in the field of medicine. In a historic move against malaria, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has developed an indigenous ‘Adfalsivax’. The injection Adfalsivax will target Plasmodium falciparum, the most deadly parasite of malaria, and reduce transmission.

The vaccine has been developed by the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with ICMR, which is a major milestone in the health sector in India. ICMR has now invited partners for large-scale production, testing and marketing of the vaccine. The injection is aimed to be affordable and affordable in rural areas, which will prove to be a boon for malaria-affected regions like Odisha.
