PM Modi Speaks With President Zelenskyy: After talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin last Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday. Modi reiterated his old policy on this issue to end the ongoing dispute between Ukraine and Russia and wished for an early end to the dispute. India has also offered its cooperation to establish peace.
Zelensky’s request to PM Modi
On this, the President of Ukraine urged PM Modi to limit energy purchases from Russia. Zelensky has described the support from India for the peace talks as important. There has also been talk between the two leaders about meeting in America in September 2025.
On one hand, the Ukraine-Russia war is going on, while on the other hand, an important meeting is going to take place between President Donald Trump and President Putin this week on August 15, 2025. India has welcomed this.

Regarding the talks between Zelensky and Modi, the Indian Foreign Ministry has said, “President Zelensky has given the latest information about the Ukraine dispute to the PM. The Indian Prime Minister thanked him and expressed his support for peacefully resolving this dispute. PM Modi has also said that India will do everything possible to resolve the dispute.”
President Zelensky said that I told PM Modi that Russia had attacked Ukraine a day earlier. Russia just wants to maintain its occupation and kill. India must support our peace efforts. We have also discussed sanctions against Russia.
What did Zelensky say about the oil purchase?
