Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy becomes Vice Presidential candidate
India Ment Nominates Former Supreme Court Judge For Vice Presidential Nomination : Opposition announces candidate for Vice Presidential election. Sudarshan Reddy has been announced as the candidate for the Vice Presidential election by the Indi Ment. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has announced his name. Sudarshan Reddy is a former Supreme Court judge. According to information from Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, the opposition ment has unanimously selected his name for the Vice Presidential election.
It is worth noting that B. Sudarshan Reddy was born on 8 July 1946. He was a former judge of the Supreme Court of India and the first Lokayukta of Goa. Sudarshan Reddy was born in a farming family in Akula Mailaram village in Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh. After his early education, he passed his law degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1971.
Sudarshan Reddy started his career by practicing civil and constitutional matters and worked with senior advocate K. Pratap Reddy of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He was subsequently appointed as a Government Advocate in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 8 August 1988 and later became an Additional Permanent Counsel to the Central Government.
In 1993, he was elected President of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Bar Association and was also a Legal Advisor to Osmania University. On 2 May 1993, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Later, on 5 December 2005, he became the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court.
Sudarshan Reddy was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Supreme Court on 12 January 2007 and retired on 8 July 2011. After retirement, he took charge as the first Lokayukta of Goa in March 2013, although he resigned in October 2013 due to personal reasons.
