Kumkum Bhagya fame actor Basir Ali has always been a favourite contestant of reality shows. Be it Roadies, Splitsvilla or Ace of Space. He has stood out because of his charm and competitive nature. Now he is locked in the house of Bigg Boss 19. Before going on the show, Basir spoke to India Today and told why he loves non-fiction TV so much. How Mumbai life changed him and why he feels that this season is his.
How many more reality shows?
First of all, when he was asked if he is going to make a record of doing the maximum number of reality shows, Basir laughed and said, “Different formats are coming in India and I really want to do all of them. But the problem is that after doing Bigg Boss, I wonder what next? I hope Colors offers me shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi or Laughter Chef, I am always ready.”

He has already been a part of Ace of Space 2, which was a captivity show. But he said, “It has been 6 years since then. And I was hungry to come here again. I spent all this time in Hyderabad with my family, in my comfort zone. But now for the last 4 years I am in Mumbai, where I also did a fiction show. The everyday professional experience, fulfilling responsibilities, being ready on the set every day, all this has changed me. It has made me a man from a boy.
“My friends and family also noticed this change and my mother clearly told me, ‘Now you are ready for Bigg Boss.’ So I also feel that this is my time.
Is there any intention to make a love story in Bigg Boss?
Basir said, “All this seems true inside the show, because only a few people are around you . After coming out, connections often break. I have also felt this in previous shows. But then there are couples like Karan Kundra-Tejasswi Prakash or Prince Narula-Yuvika Chaudhary who are together in real life. So it is different for everyone. And as far as I am concerned, yes I am open, but I will move forward after thinking carefully. Slowly.”
