Pabitra Rishta Actor Priya Marathe Dies At 38 Age Battling With Cancer : Actress Priya Marathe, who is known for her work in the superhit television show ‘Pavitra Rishta’, passed away at the age of 38 on Sunday. She was best known for her role as Varsha in the hit TV show Pavitra Rishta, co-starring Ankita Lokhande and late Sushant Singh Rajput.
As per media reports, the actress breathed her last in Mumbai on August 31, 2025 at her residence in Mira Road area of Mumbai. She had been suffering from cancer for the past year. Despite receiving treatment, she could not recover from the illness, the reports stated.
Marathe was an Indian stand-up comedian and television actor. She was born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai. She did her schooling and college from Mumbai. After completing her studies, she moved to the world of acting and soon made her TV debut with the Marathi serial ‘Ya Sukhanoya’ and then ‘Char Divas Sasuche’.

Marathe also played the role of Vidya Bali in Balaji Telefilms’ ‘Kasamh Se’ and was later seen in the first season of ‘Comedy Circus’. The actor later played the character of Jyoti Malhotra in the popular daily soap ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’, which aired on Sony TV in April 2012. Her other works include shows like ‘Tu Tithe Me’, ‘Bhaage Re Mann’, ‘Jayastute’ and ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap’. The actor is also known for her role as Varsha Satish in ‘Pavitra Rishta’, which aired on Zee TV.
Marathe acted in the 2008 Hindi film ‘Humne Jeena Seekh Liya’. She also featured in the Marathi movie ‘Ti Ani Itar’, directed by Govind Nihalani. The movie also featured Subodh Bhave, Sonali Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash, Bhushan Pradhan, Ganesh Yadav and Aavishkar Darvhekar in key roles.
