Golden ‘Kalash’ Worth Rs 1 Crore Stolen During Jain Event At Red Fort: A gold urn worth Rs 1 crore was stolen from a religious ceremony organised in front of Delhi’s Red Fort complex, suspect ‘captured in CCTV. A gold urn worth Rs 1 crore was stolen from a religious ceremony organised by the Jain community. This urn was made of about 760 grams of gold and had about 150 grams of diamonds, rubies, and emeralds embedded in it.

Businessman Sudhir Jain used to bring the Kalash every day for religious rituals, but it disappeared from the stage during the rush of the reception on September 3. Police have identified a suspect based on CCTV footage and hope to make an arrest soon. The celebrations will continue till September 9.

PCR call revealed

Providing information in this regard, the police stated that a PCR call was received at PS Kotwali on September 3. In the said call, a complaint was lodged about the theft of gold items used in the puja from the ongoing puja festival of the Jain community in 15 August Park located near the Red Fort. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a gold puja kalash weighing one kilogram had been stolen from the stage of the ongoing puja festival. The matter is being investigated. It is expected that the thief will be caught soon.

He has committed theft in temples earlier also

According to sources, along with identifying the person, Delhi Police has also claimed that this person has probably committed theft in temples earlier as well. However, this allegation has not been confirmed yet.

It is not that this is a new or the first incident of theft in the posh areas of Delhi. Recently, the incident of the snatching of a gold chain from the neck of an MP became a topic of discussion in the whole country.
