In the inaugural match, two young and emerging teams, Afghanistan and Hong Kong, will face off at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium here.
Hong Kong will play for the fifth time and Afghanistan for the fourth time in this multinational competition, which started in 1984. However, Hong Kong’s opponent is more experienced than Afghanistan in terms of the year of entry. Hong Kong played the Asia Cup for the first time in 2004 and Afghanistan in 2014. Therefore, Afghanistan will enter the field as the favorite team for this match. India will start their campaign by playing their first match against UAE on the 10th. They will play against Pakistan on the 14th and Oman on the 19th.
