FIR registered for rash driving in the BMW hit case that killed Finance Ministry official
Delhi BMW Crash: Finance Ministry Official Killed: In a tragic road accident on Sunday afternoon, a speeding BMW car struck a motorcycle near Dhaula Kuan, leading to the death of Navjot Singh, a Deputy Secretary in the Finance Ministry, and leaving his wife seriously injured. The accident occurred around 1:30 PM when Navjot and his wife were returning home to Hari Nagar after visiting Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and having lunch at Karnataka Bhavan. As they crossed Dhaula Kuan and moved toward Delhi Cantt, the BMW rammed into their bike from behind, causing it to crash into a divider and then a bus.
According to reports, Navjot Singh sustained fatal injuries and was taken to Newlife Hospital in GTB Nagar, about 17 kilometers from the accident site, where he was declared brought dead. His wife, who was riding pillion, also suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage are being analyzed to determine the exact sequence of events. A video from the accident site has also surfaced, further revealing the severity of the collision.
Delhi Police have registered a case against the accused driver, identified as Gagandeep, under BNS Sections 281, 105, 125B, and 238A. Gagandeep, who was reportedly driving the BMW, is also admitted to a hospital in North Delhi. The vehicles have been seized, and teams from the Crime Branch and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have inspected the accident site. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and legal proceedings are underway to hold the responsible parties accountable.
