Pakistan licks the dust again: Indian women also show their mettle
India Women Vs Pakistan Women : India’s Operation Vermilion continues on the cricket field. Another Sunday and Pakistan is licking the dust once again. Just a week after the men’s team won the Asia Cup with a hat-trick victory over arch-rivals Pakistan, the Indian women’s team also took Pakistan to task. They extended their unbeaten streak by thrashing the team by 88 runs in the sixth match of the ongoing ODI World Cup. Team India has now achieved the unique and historic feat of winning all 12 ODIs against Pakistan.
In this much-awaited match, Harmanpreet Kaur’s Lady Warriors set a target of 248 runs against Pakistan. After this, the Indian bowlers showed their mettle and bowled out Pakistan for just 159 runs. The Indian bowlers bowled such a measured and refined bowling that the Pakistan innings was over before the 7th over. Only three batters of the helpless Pakistan could advance by a single digit. After Sidra Amin, who played an innings of 81 runs with the help of luck and got many lives, the Pakistan innings collapsed like a house of cards. Kranti Gowda (3/20) won the player of the match award. After this defeat, Pakistan cricket fans have once again severely reprimanded the players of their national team. They have trolled their team on social media. On the other hand, while the Indian fans were very happy, there was a wave of joy all over the country.
In the rainy weather, floodlights and a pitch that suited the bowlers, the Indian top order batsmen fought for every run. After losing the toss and being invited to bat, the eight Indian batsmen started well but could not convert it into a big score. Star batsmen Smriti Mandhana and Pratyeka Rawal added 48 runs for the first wicket. But Mandhana failed again and was stopped at 23 runs. Pratyeka 31, top scorer Harmanpreet Kaur 19 and Jemimah Rodrigues 32 could not go further. Harleen Deol played a useful innings of 46 runs. In the end, India scored 247 runs on the back of a blistering innings by Richa Ghosh (35*, 20 balls, 3 sixes, 2 fours). They lost their last wicket on the last ball and recorded their first ever all-out against Pakistan.
