Bihar Elections: Odisha CM Mohan Majhi to Campaign in Banka

Bihar is witnessing a surge in political activity ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to visit Banka district today to campaign for BJP candidates. Banka, a tribal-dominated region, is expected to be a key battleground. CM Majhi will travel directly from Nuapada and return to Odisha after completing his campaign schedule.

In a major political development, the Congress party has released its first list of 48 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. Congress state president Rajesh Ram has been fielded from Kutumbaru, Shakeel Ahmed from Kadambaru, Shashank Shekhar from Patna Sahib, and Kaushalendra Kumar from Nalanda. The announcement comes amid ongoing seat-sharing discussions within the Grand Alliance, which includes the RJD, Congress, VIP, and Left parties.

Despite several rounds of talks, no final agreement has been reached on seat-sharing. However, sources indicate a likely distribution of 135 seats for RJD, 61 for Congress, 16 for VIP, and 31 for Left parties. Differences between Congress and RJD remain unresolved in several constituencies. The Congress is expected to release its second list of candidates in the coming days.
