PM Modi Praises Koraput Coffee in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Says Its Aroma Has Reached Global Markets: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 127th edition of his radio programme Mann Ki Baat, praised the rich quality and growing global demand for Koraput coffee, produced in Odisha’s tribal-dominated Koraput district. Highlighting it as an example of local success with international reach, the Prime Minister said that the coffee cultivated in Koraput has not only won recognition abroad but is also helping farmers become self-reliant. He noted that the success story of Koraput coffee is inspiring many young people to take up coffee cultivation.

Modi remarked that the taste and aroma of Koraput coffee are unmatched, adding that it reflects India’s diverse agricultural potential. His appreciation has generated pride among the people of Odisha and especially in Koraput, where coffee cultivation is seen as a lifeline for many tribal farmers. Hundreds of farmers in the region are benefiting from the initiative, which has created new livelihood opportunities while enhancing the district’s identity on the world coffee map.

Following the Prime Minister’s remarks, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and local residents expressed gratitude for the recognition. The Koraput Coffee Development Authority has announced plans to expand coffee cultivation across the district and further promote its brand globally. With the Prime Minister’s praise, the unique aroma of Koraput coffee is now expected to travel far beyond state borders, strengthening both farmer incomes and the district’s reputation for excellence.
