Where will the temple be built?
Before the elections, Mamata Banerjee has once again started trying to win the hearts of Hindus. According to reports, a temple will be built in North Bengal dedicated to Lord Mahakala. Mamata Banerjee had announced this earlier. This time, the cabinet has approved the construction of the temple. This Mahakala temple will be built in the Matigada area of North Bengal. The Mahakala temple will be built on a land of about 17.40 acres. The land has also been identified. Once the auspicious date is finalized, the construction work will begin soon.
Cabinet approves proposal
According to PTI, the West Bengal Cabinet on Monday approved a key proposal that paves the way for the construction of a Mahakala temple in Matigada, Siliguri. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced plans to build a Mahakala temple in Siliguri, modelled on the Himalayan town of Darjeeling, during her visit to the disaster-hit areas of North Bengal in October last year. Earlier, the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal had built a Jagannath temple in Digha.
