Deepti Sharma becomes the second most expensive player

A total of 277 players participated in the Women’s Premier League auction held in Delhi on November 27 , out of which 194 were Indian players and 83 were foreign players.

Amelia Kerr – base price 50 lakhs – bid reached 3 crores. Uttar Pradesh also showed interest. Ultimately, Uttar Pradesh backed out. Amelia Kerr went to Mumbai Indians for 3 crores.

Most expensive Indian player in WPL history
The most expensive player in the history of WPL is Smriti Mandhana, who was bought by RCB for ₹3.40 crore and included in their team.
Smriti Mandhana – ₹3.40 Crore (Royal Challengers Bangalore) Smriti Mandhana is the most expensive player in WPL history, she was signed for ₹3.40 Crore in 2023, led RCB to the 2024 title, and will be retained for 2026 as well.
Deepti Sharma – ₹2.60 Crore (UP Warriors) Bought in the first auction for ₹2.60 Crore, scored 507 runs and took 27 wickets in 25 games before being released by UPW ahead of the 2026 mega auction.
Jemimah Rodrigues – ₹2.20 crore (Delhi Capitals) Acquired by Delhi Capitals for ₹2.20 crore in 2023. She has scored 507 runs at an average of 28 and has been retained by Delhi Capitals for the same amount until 2026.
Shafali Verma – ₹2.00 crore (Delhi Capitals) One of the top performers in the WPL, scoring 865 runs and eight fifties. Despite her recent poor form, Delhi Capitals retained her for ₹2.20 crore for the 2026 season.
Kashvi Gautam – ₹2.00 crore (Gujarat Giants) The most notable uncapped purchase of 2024, fetching ₹2.00 crore. She made her ODI debut in 2025, but went wicketless in three matches and was released, putting her back in the 2026 auction pool.
