Lord Ram tallest statue in goa
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a magnificent statue of Lord Rama at the Shree Sansthan Gokarna Jivottam Math in South Goa . The 77- foot- tall statue is made of bronze . Created by sculptor Ram Sutar , who designed the Statue of Unity in Gujarat , it is the tallest statue of Lord Rama in the world . Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju , Chief Minister Pramod Sawant , Union Minister Shripad Naik , and state cabinet ministers attended the ceremony .
Various events are being organized from November 27th to December 7th to mark the 550th anniversary of the monastery tradition . The monastery complex in Goa was built 370 years ago in the village of Partagal , Canacona (South Goa district) . Numerous events are planned during these days . Between 7,000 and 10,000 people are expected to visit the monastery complex each day .
This statue of Lord Ram was created under the guidance of renowned Noida sculptor Ram Sutar, who also designed the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. The statue, depicting Lord Ram with a bow and arrow, is captivating. The divinity and gentleness of Lord Ram can be seen and felt in this statue.
History of Sri Sansthan Gokarna Partagali Jivattam Math
Today marks the 550th anniversary of the establishment of the Sri Sansthan Gokarna Partagali Jivottam Math. The tallest statue of Lord Rama was unveiled on this occasion. Along with the statue, a Ramayana theme park and a Rama museum are also being constructed. The Sri Sansthan Gokarna Partagali Jivottam Math is the first Gaud Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava monastery.
It follows the Dvaita sect. It was founded by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century. The monastery’s headquarters are located in Portugali, a small town in South Goa, on the banks of the Kushavati River.
