Dr k lakshmi bai donate 3.4 crore money to aiims for free treatment of common people
Professor Dr. K. Laxmi Bai will donate Rs 3.4 crore to AIIMS Bhubaneswar by selling her house. She has donated this amount for the establishment of a women’s cancer treatment and care center. Dr. K. Laxmi Bai will celebrate her centenary on the 5th. She was a first batch MBBS student of Cuttack Medical College in 1945.
After that, she retired from her job as a professor and head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at MKCG Medical College. After that, she devoted herself to social service and medical care of the people. Having acquired education from the country and abroad, Dr. Laxmi Bai started her career from Sundargarh District Hospital in 1950 and retired from MKCG Medical College in 1986. She has received the Bharat Jyoti Award, International Friendship Society Award and Best Citizen of India Award for her outstanding work in health care. Her husband died and she has no children.
