The film’s makers have officially announced that the action-packed hit will be released in Japan on January 16, 2026.
The announcement was made by Geek Pictures India, the Japanese distributor, on their X handle with an enthusiastic message: “Konnichiwa, Nihon no Tomo yo—Indian cinema’s hit film is blazing with full force in Japan! Pushpa Raj will take over Japan on January 16th, 2026, spreading the word like wildfire across borders and seas.”
Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who plays the female lead in the franchise, also celebrated the news. Sharing the film’s Japanese trailer on X, she wrote, “Konichiwa, Japan. The forest fire is officially going global. Pushpa lands in Japan on January 16, 2026… Are you ready??” Her post further amplified excitement among fans worldwide.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule achieved phenomenal success upon release, running for an impressive 50 days in theatres and receiving widespread acclaim. The film not only captured hearts but also shattered multiple box office records. It became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, joining the ₹800 crore club in Hindi and surpassing ₹1800 crore worldwide, making it India’s biggest film to date.
