Aniruddhacharya Or Indresh Upadhyay , who charges more ?

Vrindavan’s renowned storyteller, Indresh Upadhyay Ji Maharaj, was recently in the news for his wedding. He married Shipra Sharma of Haryana on December 5th in a Vedic ceremony at the Taj Amer Hotel in Jaipur. The wedding, which took place at the magnificent Jaigarh Lawn, went viral on social media. Meanwhile, a video captured further attention, showing popular storyteller Aniruddhacharya Maharaj dancing happily in Indresh’s wedding procession.

As glimpses of the wedding spread on social media, a question quickly began to spread among people: who among these two is the more expensive storyteller? Whose storytelling is more expensive, and who charges what fee? Let’s find out…

Both narrators are young, popular and well-known in India and abroad.
36-year-old Aniruddhacharya Maharaj and 28-year-old Indresh Upadhyay are both renowned figures on social media and religious platforms. Their sermons, hymns, and spiritual messages reach millions. They have a large following both within the country and abroad. This is why their programs are in constant demand, forcing organizers to prepare in advance for bookings.
Their popularity is directly reflected in their fees. While Aniruddhacharya Maharaj’s Katha is held on a grand scale, Indresh Upadhyaya has risen rapidly thanks to youthful style and social media.

Aniruddhacharya Maharaj – famous for his expensive stories
Aniruddhacharya Maharaj is the founder of the Gauri Gopal Ashram in Vrindavan, where various social activities such as serving the elderly, distributing food, and animal welfare are carried out. Media reports claim that Aniruddhacharya Maharaj can charge between 1 and 3 lakh rupees per day for a Katha. His Kathas typically last seven days or more, bringing the total fee to several lakhs. His popularity, the grandeur of the stage, and the demands of the organizers further increase his fees.

Indresh Upadhyay – Young age, great popularity, but small fees
There are no official records available of Indresh Upadhyay’s personal wealth or exact income. His income comes primarily from Katha events, the BhaktiPath YouTube channel, donations, bhajan royalties, and sponsorships. His fee for a Katha varies depending on the size of the event and the city. According to media reports, his fee generally ranges from ₹11,000 to ₹51,000. For larger or special events, his fee ranges from ₹51,000 to ₹151,000. While his fee is still significantly lower than that of Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, his popularity is steadily increasing.

So who is the more expensive narrator?
If we compare fees alone, Aniruddhacharya Maharaj is clearly the more expensive storyteller. His one-day fee often exceeds Indresh Upadhyay’s entire storytelling fee. However, both have their own styles, identities, and distinct circles of devotees. Therefore, both are extremely popular and sought-after storytellers today.
