RR Defeat CSK By 6 Runs In Guwahati Thriller
Rajasthan Royals Beat Chennai Super Kings By 6 Runs: First-time champions Rajasthan Royals, notched up their first victory of the ongoing IPL. They opened their points tally by beating the mighty Chennai Super Kings by 6 runs in a nail-biting match on Sunday night. In pursuit of a score of 183 runs placed by Rajasthan, Chennai struggled until they could but were halted at 176/6. Chennai required 39 runs from the final two overs of this nail-biting duel to come out victorious. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja provided hope for Chennai by scoring 19 runs off the 29th over. Sandeep Sharma sent Dhoni packing on the second ball of the last over to make Rajasthan win.

Chennai ultimately lost after scoring 13 runs off the last over. Chennai suffered its second straight loss in the third match. Rajasthan climbed out of the last position with their maiden victory in the third match. The Rajasthan Royals were well placed in the first half of their innings and should have easily made over 200 runs. Chennai bowled more strongly in the second half and held them back to 182/9.
Nitish Rana (81 off 36 balls) was aggressive but was not supported. Though losing opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for 4 runs, Rajasthan could score 79 runs in power play due to Nitish’s aggressive game. Following Sanju Samson (20), skipper Riyan Parag (37) completely supported him as Rajasthan hit 100 in 10 overs. However, R. Ashwin, who caught Nitish in the hands of Dhoni, pulled off a complete over and Rajasthan could only score 82 runs in the last 10 overs. Apart from Sanju, Nitish, and Ryan, only Simran Hetmyer (19) could reach double figures.
