Akshay Kumar Extends A Helping Hand To Punjab Flood Victims, Says – ‘This Is Not Charity but service’: As devastating floods continue to wreak havoc across 23 districts of Punjab, thousands of villages remain submerged, with lives lost and livelihoods destroyed. The deluge has not only affected humans but has also left cattle and livestock struggling to survive, adding to the agrarian crisis.

While the state and central agencies continue rescue and relief operations, many celebrities have stepped up to support the flood victims. Notable Punjabi stars like Diljit Dosanjh and Himanshi Khurana were among the first to offer assistance.

Now, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has pledged ₹5 crore towards the purchase of relief material for those affected in Punjab. In a heartfelt statement, he said:

“Yes, I am donating ₹5 crore to buy relief material for the flood victims in Punjab. But who am I to ‘donate’ to anyone? I feel blessed that I got the opportunity to help people. For me, this is service, a small contribution. I pray that the natural disaster that has befallen my brothers and sisters in Punjab goes away soon. God bless.”

Akshay Kumar is known for his philanthropy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he made significant donations to relief efforts, and in 2019, he contributed generously to the families of CRPF soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack.

His gesture has been widely appreciated, as the flood-hit region continues to battle massive losses — including 46 confirmed deaths, over 1.74 lakh hectares of crops damaged, and more than 3.87 lakh people affected across 1,996 villages.
