Nirmal Kapoor Passed Away – Nirmal Kapoor, mother of Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, filmmaker Boney Kapoor and actor Sanjay Kapoor, passed away on Friday, May 2. Nirmal breathed her last at 5.45 pm at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Due to health problems, Nirmal was admitted to the hospital several times in the recent past. Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and Boney Kapoor’s mother, Nirmal Kapoor passed away in Mumbai on Friday. The Kapoor family was seen reaching their mother’s house after the news broke. A video is going viral on social media in which Boney Kapoor, Ansula Kapoor and others are gathered at the Kapoor family house. Meanwhile, after this news, celebrities have also reached Nirmal Kapoor’s house to pay their last respects. Rani Mukerji, Ananya Panday, Javed Akhtar, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Veer Pahariya, and Raveena Tandon paid their last respects to his daughter Rasha Thadani and Suhana Khan.
Nirmal Kapoor has three sons, Boney, Anil and Sanjay, and one daughter, Reena Marwah. She was the wife of famous film producer Surinder Kapoor. Surinder Kapoor produced many films in his career, including ‘Milenge Milenge,’ ‘Loafer,’ ‘Ponga Pandit,’ and ‘Ek Shriman Ek Shrimati.’ He died in September 2011. Boney Kapoor is a film producer like his father, while Anil and Sanjay are actors. Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor and Mohit Marwah are Nirmal Kapoor’s grandchildren. Sandeep Marwah, founder of AAFT in Noida, is his son-in-law.
The Kapoor family issued a heartfelt statement expressing their condolences on his demise, writing, “Passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. He lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, a loving daughter-in-law, a caring son-in-law, 11 grandchildren and a lifetime of precious memories. His generous spirit and boundless love touched all who knew him. He will remain in our hearts.” His last rites will be performed on Saturday, May 3, at 11:30 AM at the Bile Parle crematorium in Mumbai.
