India crowned champions after convincing 4 -1 win over South Korea
India won the Hockey Asia Cup title by defeating South Korea 4-1. India has won the Asia Cup trophy for the fourth time. Sukhjit Singh, Amit Rohidas scored one goal each and Dilpreet Singh scored two goals for Team India. With this, India avenged their defeat in the 2013 final, when South Korea defeated India 4-3 to win the trophy.
India won the Asia Cup for the fourth time:
In the opening moments of the match, Sukhjit Singh scored a goal and gave Team India the lead. India also got a penalty stroke in the first quarter, but the goal could not be converted. The second quarter began when Jugraj Singh was suspended for 2 minutes. Team India had 10 players on the field, but the Korean team could not score a single goal. The fourth and final quarter also saw a tough fight, where senior player Amit Rohidas scored the fourth goal for India. The Korean team managed to score only one goal in the match.
This is the same South Korea that had denied India the title by defeating them 4-3 in the 2013 Asia Cup final. Now, after a long wait of 12 years, the Indian team has managed to take revenge.
