Mithun Manhas becomes the new BCCI president

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its new executive committee at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai today (September 28). The election officer announced the names of the new office bearers, indicating that the BCCI will now be in new hands.

Mithun Manhas has been elected as the President of the BCCI. Rajiv Shukla has been appointed Vice President. Devjit Saikia has been appointed Secretary. Prabhtej Singh Bhatia has been appointed Joint Secretary. A. Raghuram Bhat has been appointed Treasurer.

Meanwhile, important appointments have also been made to other positions within the BCCI. Jaydev Niranjan Shah has been elected to the Apex Council. Arun Singh Dhumal and M. Khairul Jamal Majroomdar have been elected to the Governing Council.

In this way, the new executive committee of BCCI will take charge for the next term and will take important decisions related to the functioning and policies of Indian cricket.

Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), is expected to be elected as the new head of the BCCI today. He will likely be elected unopposed, just like the previous two presidents. Former captain Sourav Ganguly and his successor, Roger Binny, were elected BCCI presidents without opposition. Mithun has reportedly been appointed president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), effective September 28th.
