Train Ticket Prices Increase
Big Update For Railway Passengers : Train travel may now be expensive. Indian Railways has decided to increase train ticket prices after a long time. The new prices will be implemented from July 1. Along with this, new rules will come for booking tickets. In which Aadhaar authentication will also be made mandatory. However, the Railway Ministry has said that this step will benefit the common citizen.
According to the information, it has been decided to increase the fare of non-AC mail and express trains by 1 paise per km. Similarly, it has been decided to increase the fare of AC trains by 2 paise per km. This will definitely affect the pockets of passengers travelling long distances.
However, this change is necessary to improve the railway service. It will not affect the passengers travelling daily or less. Passengers travelling up to 500 km will not face any problem.
Train Ticket Prices Increase : The Ministry of Railways has directed the Centre for Railway Information Systems and RRCTC to make necessary technical changes to implement the railway rules. The Railways has informed all Zonal Divisions to make the changes.
The Railway Ministry has announced that now the waiting list capacity in any train will be limited to 25 percent of the total capacity of the train. The new rule aims to provide a better travel experience to passengers and reduce overbooking problems. Now, the Railways will offer a maximum of 25 percent of the total seats in each train as waiting tickets in First Class AC, Second Class AC, Third Class AC, Sleeper and Chair Car. This change has been made keeping in mind various quotas like reserved seats for the differently-abled, senior citizens and women.
