Railway and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Operations on the entire route were halted following the accident. The accident occurred at 4 pm on Tuesday (November 4). Train number 68733 collided with a freight train.
According to reports, a freight train and a passenger train collided head-on near Lalkhadan in Bilaspur. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. The number of casualties is feared to rise. However, rescue teams have arrived at the scene and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. Passengers trapped in the damaged coach are being rescued using gas cutters.
Maybe 10 passengers are dead, said former Chhattishgarh CM Bhupendra Baghel.
