Terror Strikes Islamabad: Car Bomb Explodes Near Court

Blast Rocks Islamabad After Delhi Red Fort Explosion; Several Injured, Probe Underway: Following the bomb blast at Delhi’s Red Fort, another explosion has struck Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. According to reports, a blast occurred outside a district court near the G-11 judicial complex, injuring several people. Initial reports suggested that the explosion originated from a car parked in the court’s parking area. Pakistani media, including India Today and Dawn, reported that at least 12 people were killed and 20 to 25 injured, though official figures remain unconfirmed. Emergency teams and security forces rushed to the spot, cordoning off the area to determine the exact cause of the explosion.

Earlier, Pakistan faced another attack in South Waziristan, where a coordinated assault on Wana Cadet College involved a car bomb and multiple suicide bombers. Security forces killed two attackers and trapped three others inside the college premises. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army’s media wing, confirmed the incident but blamed Indian-backed militants for the attack — a claim India has not responded to. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), however, denied any involvement in the Wana assault.

Meanwhile, conflicting reports have emerged about the Islamabad blast. While the ISPR alleged a terror link, Dawn cited police officials who described it as a cylinder explosion inside a vehicle. The blast’s sound was reportedly heard as far as the Police Lines headquarters, triggering panic in nearby areas. Authorities are now investigating whether the explosion was an act of terror or an accident, as the country remains on high alert following the twin incidents.
