Why should a horseshoe ring not be worn?
According to Premanand Maharaj, one should not wear a horseshoe ring. He has given a deep meaning behind this: How can you relieve your pain with the horseshoe of a horse that has itself been tortured a lot (when horseshoes are hammered into its hooves)? How can a person who is himself unhappy relieve the suffering of others? In this way, he completely rejected the popular belief that wearing a horseshoe ring relieves one from Shani Dosha.
What is the real solution to the troubles caused by Saturn?
Premanand Maharaj told a wonderful and simple way to get rid of the pain of Shani. He said that the pain of planets can be removed only by chanting the name of God. He believes that until you do not improve your conduct, wearing any kind of ring or offering oil will not give any benefit.

If you are a true servant of Shri Krishna, then you do not need to offer oil to anyone, but offer yourself at the feet of Hari.’ This means that instead of depending on external means, we should increase our inner strength and faith in God. Only true devotion and good deeds can free us from all kinds of pain and troubles.
