CBSE Launches ‘Oil Boards’ In Schools: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with a new order for all the children studying in schools. CBSE has issued a notice asking all schools to put up an ‘oil board’ on the school notice board. This visual campaign has been started to increase awareness about healthy living among school children.

CBSE says that nowadays children eat more fried food and do less exercise, which leads to problems like obesity. They said that all schools should make teachers and students aware of oily food and tell them about an active lifestyle.

This campaign has been launched to address the rising obesity rate among urban children in India. Based on the data from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5, 2019-21), CBSE has reported that more than 20% of adults in urban areas are either overweight or obese. In such a situation, this initiative has been taken to promote a healthy lifestyle and quality eating habits among children.

What are CBSE Oil Boards: What is Oil Board?

According to the notice issued, CBSE’s oil board will be installed in such parts of the school where it is visible the most such as the cafeteria, waiting lounge, and notice board. For this, the board has also given some samples, which the school can change according to its requirements. The school said that oil boards should be installed in the form of printed posters and digital screens. In the oil board, tell about oily food and less oily food.

CBSE Sugar Board: Last year, CBSE started creating awareness about sugar

For your information, let us tell you that CBSE had started a similar campaign last year, named ‘Sugar Board’, under which students were encouraged to eat less sugary food in school. This initiative of CBSE is commendable amidst the growing obesity in the country and the world, especially among children. Due to a lack of information and poor eating habits, people’s health is deteriorating.
