Covid Update : 5th Patient With Covid Dies In Mumbai . The Covid test for a 47-year-old Kalyan resident came back positive a day after her death, making her the fifth person with the coronavirus to die within an eight-day period in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The woman was taking out-patient treatment for typhoid for 10 days but was rushed to a private hospital on Friday morning when her health deteriorated significantly. She died in the hospital the same evening—before her Covid-19 test results were available.

KDMC health officer, Dr Deepa Shukla, said the woman had a fever for the last 10 days and had typhoid. KDMC deputy commissioner (health) Prasad Borkar said the satellite city has three other corona patients in various hospitals: one recovered and was discharged, the other is in hospital and stable, and the third patient is in the municipal hospital in Kalwa.
The daily Covid count across the state climbed from 43 on Sunday to 69 on Monday, according to the state health department’s daily Covid update. Of these, 37 patients were from Mumbai, followed by 19 in Thane and seven in Navi Mumbai. While Pune reported two cases one case each was detected in Pimpri Chinchwad, Kolhapur, Raigad, and Latur.
