Cow Slaughter Banned In Odisha
Cow slaughter cannot be allowed in Odisha. The High Court has given an important order for this. There is a special law in the state to stop cow slaughter. Therefore, on that basis, the High Court has said in an important verdict that cow slaughter cannot be allowed in Odisha. The High Court gave this verdict after the state government informed the court on Thursday regarding the cow slaughter ban law.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Harish Tandon and Justice M.S. Raman gave this order after hearing the case filed by the Cow Foundation. The petitioner stated in the petition that the Odisha government had enacted a law in 1960 to stop cow slaughter. It is known as the Odisha Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act. According to Section 3 of this law, it is clearly stated that cattle cannot be slaughtered for any reason in the state. But this law is not being implemented in the state. As a result, cattle are being slaughtered indiscriminately in the state, the petitioner stated.

The petitioner also prayed for the closure of the illegally running slaughterhouse in Cuttack. The High Court sought a report from the state government on this. The state government filed a reply on this. It informed the court about the existence of a law prohibiting cow slaughter in the state.
