Peace is slowly returning to Nepal. The curfew imposed in the capital Kathmandu has been lifted today. After the formation of the interim government, the security forces have taken this decision keeping in mind the situation. After the curfew was lifted, Gen-G has started a cleaning campaign in the country. They have started painting the roads and dividers.

Former Chief Justice Sushilkumar Karki has taken charge of the interim government. She was sworn in as the Prime Minister yesterday. After the curfew was lifted, life is slowly returning to normal in other areas, starting from Kathmandu Valley. Shops, markets, shopping malls, etc. have started opening in Nepal. Ordinary citizens are moving on the roads. Cleaning operations are underway at many places of important government buildings.

The death toll in Nepal’s protests has risen to 51, police say. This includes 21 protesters, nine prisoners, three police officers and 18 others. Nepal police have appealed to the public for cooperation in dealing with incidents of violence, arson and looting across the country.

Notably, Gen-Z protesters in Nepal have been wreaking havoc after a social media ban. The violence did not stop even after Prime Minister Oli’s resignation, and protesters have set fire to the Parliament building, the President’s office, the Prime Minister’s residence, government offices, political party offices and the homes of senior leaders.
