Delhi Elections: President Droupadi Murmu cast her vote
Delhi Elections ,Voting in Delhi. Voting for the assembly elections began at 7 am. Voting is ongoing in all 70 seats. Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu has joined the Delhi election festival. He left Rashtrapati Bhavan at around 8:30 am and reached Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya polling station,After casting her vote, the President also took a photograph outside the polling station.
Voting will be held from 7 am to 6:30 pm. 1 crore 56 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in 13,766 polling stations. Out of which 83 lakh 76 thousand are men, 72 lakh 36 thousand are women and 1,267 are third gender voters. In this election, the three main political parties of Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP and Congress, are in competition. While AAP is aiming to return to power in Delhi for the third consecutive term through various public welfare schemes, BJP has made efforts in its election campaign to end its 27-year political exile in the national capital.
However, after the election campaign, there was tension at Fateh Singh Marg in Govindpuri of Kalkaji assembly constituency late on Monday night. Atishi reached there with her supporters after alleging that BJP workers in the locality were distributing money and threatening not to vote for AAP. As a result, the police intervened as the tension at the scene increased. There was an argument between the police and Atishi and her supporters. Even after the campaign was over, Atishi went to the voters with 50 to 60 supporters, and the Govindpuri police station has registered a case against her, citing it as a violation of the election model code of conduct.
