Delta plane Catches Fire After Takeoff: Emergency Landing After Engine On Fire: A passenger plane in the US had to make an emergency landing soon after takeoff. According to reports, Delta Airlines’ Boeing plane took off from Los Angeles International Airport to Atlanta on Friday, but soon after takeoff, one of its engines caught fire. After this, the plane had to return for an emergency landing. A video of the incident has surfaced, in which the Boeing 767-400 plane can be seen in the air, and flames are coming out of its left engine.

Safe landing of the plane

LA Flights, a YouTube channel that provides news about flights, captured the emergency landing of the plane during its live coverage, showing flames shooting out of the engine and the quick response of the ground crew. However, no casualties were reported in the incident, and firefighters managed to douse the fire in the engine after the plane landed on the runway.

The engine caught fire immediately after takeoff

According to a report by Aviation A2Z, the Delta Airlines plane caught fire just after it took off from the airport. The flight crew declared an emergency and prepared to land back at the airport. Air Traffic Control (ATC) directed the plane back to the airport and notified emergency services on the ground.

Flightradar24 data shows that DL446 first climbed over the Pacific Ocean and then circled back over the Downey and Paramount areas, giving the crew time to complete checklists and prepare for a safe landing. During this time, the plane maintained a controlled altitude and speed.

The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has started investigating the incident. The plane is about 25 years old and has General Electric CF6 engines. BBC quoted a Delta Air Lines spokesperson as saying, ‘Delta flight 446 returned to Los Angeles shortly after departure after signs of a problem were detected in the plane’s left engine.’
