Gold nears ₹1.22 lakh/10g; Silver touches ₹1.67 lakh/kg as festive v demand and global tensions fuel rally
Dhanteras 2025: Gold, Silver Prices Skyrocket Amid Festive Demand: Gold and silver prices continue their upward march in the run-up to Dhanteras, setting new record highs daily. In Bhubaneswar, the price of 24-carat gold has surged by ₹1,250 to reach ₹1,22,020 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold climbed by ₹1,150 to ₹1,11,850. Silver also saw a ₹100 increase, now priced at ₹1,67,100 per kilogram.
So far in 2025, gold has become costlier by ₹44,000 and silver by ₹63,000. Market analysts attribute the spike to global uncertainties, especially stemming from US President Donald Trump’s tariff policy, prompting investors to turn to gold as a safe haven.
According to Goldman Sachs, gold could hit ₹1,55,000 per 10 grams by next year if the current trend continues.
