Competition to make a film on Operation Sindoor, 25 applications sent for name registration
15 Filmmakers Rush To Secure Operation Sindoor Title: India has responded to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Many Bollywood celebrities have supported India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. According to reports, more than 15 filmmakers and studios have filled out their forms with the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (one of the associations working for film title registration). Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President VN Tiwari clarified this.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India destroyed many terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. This retaliatory action of India was named ‘Operation Sindoor’. The Indian Army carried out this operation with great bravery and also achieved success. Now the filmmakers have their eyes on this name, Operation Sindoor. About 25 applications have come to the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) to register the name.
Anil Nagrath, the general secretary of IMPPA, said, “The association has received about 25 applications. There are names like Operation Sindoor, Mission Sindoor and Pahalgam. But most people have asked for Operation Sindoor.” That is, there is a competition among Bollywood filmmakers to make a film on this mission of India. Everyone wants to get hold of the title of Operation Sindoor.

This trend is not new in Bollywood. The film industry has already shown nationalist fervor. Whenever there is a big national event, filmmakers look for tips on titles. Even if no film is going to be made, it is still safe to register the title. However, after the success of Uri, Obar and Fighter, filmmakers have realised that war films have become a popular genre, and hence they are now looking to work on a film on ‘Operation Sindoor’.
