FIR Against Bollywood Singer Sonu Nigam: Popular singer Sonu Nigam has been in the news for the past few days. Sometimes for his statements and sometimes for his concerts. Now, once again, Sonu Nigam’s name is in the news due to a statement given by him. He has angered the Kannada community with his statement. A pro-Kannada organization has filed a police complaint against him. According to the organization, the words of the artist have hurt feelings of the Kannada community and worked for promoting hatred.
To speak of the entire issue, the date was 25 April 2025 in East Point College of Engineering and Technology in Virgonagar, Bangalore. Sonu Nigam had joined here to perform in a concert. During this, a fan repeatedly asked him to sing a Kannada song. Sonu rejected this demand and said that the fan was demanding aggressively.
Sonu Nigam’s statement creates controversy:
Meanwhile, Sonu Nigam gave such a statement, after which the statement turned into a controversy. KRV has demanded that the police that an FIR against Sonu Nigam under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Sonu said in his statement, “This is the reason for what happened in Pahalgam. This is the reason for what you are doing, what you just did. Look who is standing in front of you.” After this statement, the singer is now seen getting trapped in legal trouble. The Kannada community has considered this statement of Sonu as insulting. They say that the singer linked a simple demand for a Kannada song to a terrorist attack.
People raised their voices against the singer:
On social media, too, people are seen getting angry over Sonu Nigam’s statement. One user wrote, “What does the demand for a Kannada song have to do with the Pahalgam incident? Why is Sonu Nigam linking two unrelated things?” Another user wrote, “If demanding a Kannada song in a Bangalore concert is treason, then I have no problem in being called a traitor.” However, some people supported Sonu Nigam and said that he had raised his voice for his self-respect.
