Taj Mahal catch fire
A fire broke out at the south gate of the world-famous Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that the incident occurred due to a short circuit. As a result, an atmosphere of fear was created in the local area. Such an incident was witnessed yesterday morning. The staff at the scene immediately informed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials and Torrent Power. As soon as the information was received, a team of Torrent Power reached the spot and immediately resolved the problem.

According to reports, an electric wire had fallen on the chambers at the south gate of the Taj Mahal. Suddenly, there was a spark and smoke spread. As soon as the information was received, a team from Torrent Power immediately reached the spot. Torrent Power had shut down the Taj Mahal for two hours for repairs. The fire did not affect the security arrangements of the Taj Mahal. There is no information about any damage to anyone. Apart from this, it is reported that the situation is under control now.

Power supply restored after two-hour shutdown
The short circuit temporarily disrupted the electric supply to the Taj Mahal as the same line provides power to the monument. However, the issue was resolved within two hours. Torrent Power technicians completed the repair work within two hours and the electricity supply was fully restored, officials said, confirming that the heritage structure remains completely safe.
Southern gate remains closed for tourists
It should be noted here that the southern gate of the Taj Mahal has been closed to tourists since 2018 due to security concerns. Only maintenance and ASI staff are allowed access to that area. Officials reiterated that the fire incident occurred in a restricted zone and did not affect any area accessible to visitors.
