Cristiano Ronaldo Tops Forbes’ Highest-Paid Athletes List Again

Forbes 2025: Ronaldo Tops Highest-Paid Athletes List: Cristiano Ronaldo is performing marvelously on and off the field. The Portuguese soccer legend has emerged the world’s highest-paid sportsperson in Forbes’ top-earner list for 2025. He made $275 million last year. That represents the third-largest annual salary for any active athlete in Forbes history.

Cristiano Ronaldo shatters the record in a year

In 2024, Ronaldo made $275 million on and off the field, including playing salary, endorsements, and other commercial activities.

Ronaldo, who quit Italian club Juventus to move to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, draws a humongous amount of money from the sport. It is reported to be over $200 million annually. Yet, he also makes plenty of money from other enterprise ventures away from it. These include international sponsorship agreements, personal brands, CR7-named hotels, perfume brands, and gyms.

The largest is that no other player has even come close to his earnings. The player in second place is basketball legend LeBron James. He made $133.8 million this year, less than half of Ronaldo’s pay. But even after increasing his business endeavors with film and purchasing a sports franchise, James’ pay is far lower than Ronaldo’s record-breaking payout.
