Gambhira Bridge collapses in Vadodara: 12 killed as vehicles fall into river: A bridge has collapsed in Vadodara, Gujarat. The Gambhira bridge, built on the Mahisagar river connecting Vadodara and Anand, collapsed in Padra. The administration is present on the spot. It is being said that when the bridge collapsed, many vehicles were passing over it. It is also being said that some vehicles fell into the river.

12 people died, 6 people were injured

In a video, it can be seen that a truck is stuck on a part of the bridge. Ahead of it, a part of the bridge is broken, and behind it, a big crack can be seen in the bridge. It is not yet clear how many people have been injured or are missing in this incident. 12 people have also died in this incident, and at least 6 people are said to be injured.

On the collapse of the Gambhira bridge, Road and Buildings Department Secretary PR Patelia said, “We have received information about the Gambhira bridge being damaged, which led to the accident. A team of experts has been sent to the spot.”

Vadodara Collector Anil Dhamelia said that the rescue operation began that morning. Local swimmers, boats, and the municipal corporation team immediately reached the spot. VMC, emergency services, NDRF teams, and other administrative officials are present there, along with police teams. The rescue operation is underway. The sixth injured has just been found and is being provided medical treatment.
