Both of them scored 79 runs in the powerplay 6 overs without loss. Jonny Bairstow, who played the first match of the season, missed his half-century by making 47 runs from 22 balls. He also hit 4 fours and 3 spectacular sixes in this innings. Rohit Sharma got his lifeline after being caught individually at 3 and 12 runs.
In the end, the former captain fell victim to the famous Krishna, who scored 81 runs from 50 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes. After them, Surya Kumar Yadav (33 off 20 balls), Tilak Verma (25 off 11 balls), and Hardik Pandya (22* off 9 balls) took Mumbai to a challenging 228. But the famous Krishnan was the highest scorer, conceding 53 runs. In reply, despite good innings from Sai Sudarshan (80 off 49 balls) and Washington Sundar (48 off 24 balls), Gujarat were restricted to 208.
