Jai Dholakia will get this much money as salary, along with a car
BJP’s Jai Dholakia has won the Nuapada by-election with a huge margin. Now he will take oath as an MLA. So do you know how much salary he will get as an MLA?
As an ordinary MLA, Jai will receive a monthly salary along with other ancillary allowances. The basic salary of an MLA in Odisha is Rs 35,000. However, he gets an additional Rs 65,000 per month for other allowances (legislature allowance, office expenses, phone-internet allowance).
In addition, MLAs receive a daily allowance of Rs 1,500 per day during the assembly session. In addition, travel expenses within the state and medical facilities are also available for MLAs.
Every MLA gets an MLA Local Area Development (LAD) fund of Rs 3 crore every year. This fund is invested by the MLAs in the development of their constituencies. Apart from this, former MLAs are also given a monthly pension of Rs 35,000. This means that Nuapada MLA Jay Dholakia will now get a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month.
