ICC Ready For 4-Day Test Cricket Matches From WTC 2027-29: The International Cricket Council has taken a big decision in the World Test Championship 2027-29. The ICC is ready to approve four-day Test matches for smaller countries. However, according to the report, India, Australia, and England are not included in this list. All three teams will have to play Test matches in the same way as they have been playing till now. This means that all three teams will be seen playing 5-day Test matches. This decision of the ICC is very good.

According to The Guardian newspaper report, ‘During the WTC final at Lord’s last week, ICC President Jay Shah expressed his support for four-day Tests to approve them in time for the 2027-29 WTC cycle. Jay Shah himself wants the same and wants to start it from the 2027-29 season of the World Test Championship. England, Australia and India will still play five-day Test matches in the Ashes, Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

This season of the World Test Championship started on June 17. A two-match Test series is being played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The ICC has taken this decision so that more small countries can participate in Test cricket and are also prepared to host it. According to the report, in a four-day Test match, 98 overs will be bowled in a day instead of 90 overs.

Know the schedule of Team India this season:

Team India has to play a total of 18 Test matches in this season of the World Test Championship. The team has to first play a 5-match Test series against England which is starting from June 20. Shubman Gill will be seen captaining Team India in this Test series. After this, the Indian team will play Test series at home against West Indies, South Africa and Australia. Team India will tour Sri Lanka and New Zealand. They have to play two Test matches each against these two teams.
